| Collective Worship |
Collective Worship takes place daily at the school, including a weekly visit from Reverend Westby, extended hymn singing and a celebration assembly. Every fortnight parents from different year groups are invited to enjoy our ‘show and share’ celebration assembly, where they have the opportunity to share the work of the whole school. What do the children at Cherry Burton think of collective worship? “I enjoy singing and hearing religious stories”. “It brings the school together”. “It makes me feel much more valued”. “I find it peaceful”. “It helps me know how to sort out problems in school”. “It helps me believe in myself when I am sad”. “It makes me feel happy”. “I enjoy learning things as a school/part of a large group”. “It is important because we have quiet time to think and be silent”. “It helps me reflect on my life and what has happened that day”. “I like seeing religious symbols and identifying them”. “I feel very relaxed in church”. “It gets us all together to learn and sing”. “I enjoy listening to stories from the bible”. “Younger children learn more about the school and the world around them”. “It helps with peace, kindness, love and hope and helps me get on with life”. “It shows us how to work together”. “It helps me believe in myself”. “You get to reflect on what you’ve done”. “It calms us down and lets us spread our feelings”. “It helps you to treat each other kindly”. “I’m proud to show my work”. “It makes me realise how lucky I am”. |
